Int. Jr. of Human Computations and Intelligence features the following kinds of papers
- Original research contributions:Theoretical and/or methodological papers about novel approaches;
- Methodological reviews/surveys: Papers that collect, classify, describe, and critically analyse research designs, methods and procedures;
- Position papers: Papers that gather, describe, and analyse the scientific challenges of a specific field, founding them on the related literature;
- Editorials:Editors will occasionally publish editorials;
- Guest editorials: Editors can invite guest editors of special issues to publish editorials. Unsolicited editorials will not be considered;
- Book reviews: A critical review of recently published books;
- Erratum: Some specific corrections to results previously published in the journal IJHCI
- Historical perspectives: Papers that describe and critically review some specific aspects in the history of scientific contributions and applications;
- Maters/PhD projects Dissertation Discussions: Early publications about more recent research trends, having the goal of allowing M.Tech/M.S/PhD candidates to explain their PhD research project and to share it with other scientists interested in the topic. Such type of papers should focus on the overall goals and approaches of Masters/PhD research projects, without considering in detail the specific scientific results obtained, which would be the focus of other research articles.
Peer Review Process
All submitted papers to IJHCI will be pre-screened by the Editorial team to determine suitability for further review (e.g. correct format, area of interest, reference in APA format). Papers deemed suitable will be peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers (single blind review). In case of delay on behalf of a viewer, the reviewer may be substituted by another. In case of excessive delay, the paper will be reviewed by members of the Editorial Board. Submitted articles cannot have been previously published, nor be forthcoming in an archival journal or book.
Plagiarism Policy
If similarities with already published material are detected, then depending on the extent of the similarities, the editor may reject the paper or contact the author and ask for an explanation/revision (e.g. in the case of suspected self-plagiarism). We are aware that using plagiarism detection softwares may result to unjust accusations and therefore our team (editor and editorial board members) will consider all data in order to determine if the paper under examination bears new scientific data that deserve to be published.
On the other hand, if it is decided that the author deliberate plagiarized a paper this may even cause the banning of all co-authors from our journal for a certain period or even permanently. In such a case, the authors will be contacted and an explanation will be asked. In case of a published paper that is judged to be the result of plagiarism, the paper will be retracted and this will be clearly stated in the paper's title, in the abstract page and in the pdf and an explanation/cause of retraction will also be provided.
